C-VAP CIC is a forward-thinking community interest company, a type of charity organisation, committed to delivering cutting-edge educational programs designed for underserved communities in Glasgow. Our mission is to empower individuals by equipping them with advanced, future-ready skills and knowledge. We are unlocking new opportunities and transforming employability in an evolving digital landscape.

Rooted in inclusivity and innovation, our programs are designed for learners of all backgrounds, with no prior technical experience required. We harness the power of AI and emerging technologies to create accessible pathways toward meaningful, sustainable career growth and community advancement.

Cllr Lorna Binnie

Grassroots councillor with global experience and creative passion.

Lorna Binnie is a councillor for Falkirk South, with experience in Asia and South Africa. A writer and advocate for social justice, she brings a people-first, solution-based approach to C-VAP.

Morag Cassidy

Director and educator in social enterprise and youth development.

Morag leads ‘Light on the Path’, supporting young professionals and vulnerable individuals. With a PGCE and strong civic experience, she adds strategic depth to C-VAP.

Dr Julie McFarlane

Academic leader in enterprise and business coaching.

Julie is a former Director at Heriot-Watt and Strathclyde Universities. With global teaching and research experience in enterprise development, she brings academic strength and funding expertise.

Colonel John Kelly MBE

Decorated former British Army leader and community resilience advisor, bringing strategic governance and security expertise to C-VAP.

Former senior British Army officer with extensive global leadership experience, including command roles in Northern Ireland, Germany, and Brunei. A decorated operations specialist (MBE 1980), he now advises on community resilience, youth development, and strategic security. As NED, he brings deep expertise in governance to support C-VAP's mission..

Dr Farrukh Makhdum

Engineer and founder focused on training future makers.

With 15+ years of engineering and R&D experience, Farrukh founded C-VAP to empower communities through hands-on training in manufacturing and product development.

Juli Forrest

Business strategist with public/private sector success.

Juli is a project manager and business owner supporting SMEs and public bodies with operations, finance, and growth. Her network and experience help guide C-VAP’s expansion.

Penny Hand

Board member contributing community insights and support.

Penny brings valuable experience and community understanding to the C-VAP board, supporting our mission to empower the vulnerable through education and opportunity.
